Passage of Time

Art students from Marietta College were paired with senior volunteers who participate at the O'Neill Senior Center. Students were instructed to paint three works, one of the senior when they were young, one that represented a vivid memory of the senior and a third that represented the passage of time in the senior's life. The students met regularly with their "senior" over several months. The resulting works of art were revealed at a public art exhibit held at the O'Neill Center on 4/27/11. Severe thunderstorms passed through the area during the show causing an electric outage. With some minor adjustments, the show went on and what a show it was! Just wanted to share the success and show that seniors are connecting the community in Marietta, Ohio.
